THE BEAUTIFUL IMAGE SHOWN ABOVE was created by artist Stevee Postman to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the discovery of the psychoactive effects of LSD by its inventor, Dr. Albert Hofmann. The blotter art is designed in the traditional style found on the street: a 7.5 X 7.5-inch sheet perforated into 900 quarter-inch "hits." It was printed with soy-based inks onto a hemp-blend paper that is chlorine-free, acid-free, and of course, LSD-free!

Blotter art is a unique form of contemporary folk art--the "baseball card" for the drug enthusiast. Before his death, Timothy Leary signed over a thousand pieces of blotter art. While he was alive, such art sold for around $100.00 a sheet. Since his death, the asking price on some of these sheets has risen to over $600.00 each! Clearly such art, particularly when it has been signed by members of the entheocognoscenti, can demand high prices from collectors of psychedelic ephemera--it will only increase in value. "LSD 60" by Postman was sold at the Mind States IV conference, where those who purchased the art collected signatures from many of the presenters at the event. (Conferences such as this are a great place for autograph hounds.)

DR. ALBERT HOFMANN'S
SIGNED AND NUMBERED LIMITED EDITION!

As a fund-raiser for EROWID and MAPS (who recently posted the Sandoz LSD library on-line at the Erowid web site), Dr. Albert Hofmann kindly agreed to add his autograph to a limited number of 60 of these pieces of art. Many of these signed pieces were auctioned off at the Mind States conference or sold after the event. As the available numbers decline, the asking price for this art increases. A few of those that that are left are available as gifts for donations to Erowid Center. For more information, see www.erowid.org/donations/incentives_special5.php This art will no doubt continue to increase in value in the years to come, as Dr. Hofmann's signature on blotter art is very rare indeed! It is a fine addition to any collection of psychedelic ephemera.
